Our Team
Daniel Welp
Chief Financial Officer | Wealth Planner
Dan Welp is the CFO of Welp Financial Services and joined the firm in 2000. He works alongside his brother and helps clients who are approaching retirement or are in retirement by creating, designing and implementing optimal retirement savings plans that are unique to each client’s situation.
Just like his brother, Jeff, Dan is committed to putting the needs of each client first and is not restricted to recommending particular products. He creates individualized plans that benefit each client and follows the fiduciary standard, which means he will work in only the client’s best interest. He assists clients who are approaching or are in their retirement years and educates them on understanding their big life picture, how to properly plan for retirement, and why long-term care planning is important. He can also assist families who have farms and require guidance with legacy and beneficiary planning.
Dan graduated from South Central Technical College with a degree in Sales and Marketing and also attended Minnesota State University, Mankato, where he took business courses. He is an Investment Advisor representative and has obtained FINRA securities licenses Series 7 and 65.
In the community, he’s been involved with the Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees), charitable giving and activities with the Knights of Columbus, and St. Peter Ambassadors.
Dan is married with two children. He enjoys spending time with his family and loves outdoor sports including hunting, golf, and ice fishing.
Jeffrey Welp
Chief Executive Officer | Owner
Jeff Welp is the CEO and owner of Welp Financial Services. As an independent owner, Jeff is committed to putting the unique needs of each client first and is not restricted to recommending particular products. He is free to draw on the variety of choices available from a range of insurance companies to create individualized plans that benefit each client and are in only their best interest.
When Jeff was in college, he knew he wanted to be in the financial industry, because he watched his father, Steve, who had been in the industry since the 1970s. He observed how his dad helped others and how it made a difference in their lives. Welp Financial started in 1988, and Jeff joined his dad in 1993.
Jeff helps clients with income planning and has experience with families who have farms and need guidance with legacy and beneficiary planning. Farm families need to determine how to sustain farm operations in later generations and how to divide the estate fairly among children, which can get complicated when some heirs work the farm and others do not.
Jeff graduated from South Central Technical College with a degree in Sales and Marketing and also attended Minnesota State University, Mankato, where he played baseball. To educate others throughout the year, he occasionally speaks about retirement planning, including Social Security.
Jeff has been married to his wife, Becky, since 1993 and they have four children. When they are not watching the kids play sports, he enjoys hunting, ice fishing, golfing, and traveling.
